Brown Butter
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2.5 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 1.5 Cups packed Brown Sugar
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1.5 Sticks Salted Butter
- 1 Tbls Baking Powder
- 1.5 Cups Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Almost Extract
These cookies are so lovely, soft and chewy
For the dough:
- Brown the butter on medium heat until it smells nutty and is a cute deep golden color, about ten minutes
- Cool butter briefly and then cream together with sugar
- Add in vanilla and almond extracts
- Beat in eggs one at a time
- Combine baking powder and flour
- Mix into the wet mixture until just combined, do NOT over mix
- Fold in 1 cup of the chocolate chips
- Chill in fridge for 20 minutes
Preparation:
- Using a cookie scoop or teaspoon, whatever y'all got handy, roll into one inch balls
- Press one side into the remaining chocolate chips just for funsies
- Cover your cookie sheet with parchment and place cookies 3 inches apart
- Bake until the bottoms look golden and the tops look ever so slightly undercooked, about 10-12 minutes depending on your oven, this will assure you have a soft and chewy cookie
- Place on cooling rack or plate or clean cutting board, you know, whatever y'all got and let sit for 20 minutes.
